Communio Theology
Our cancelled Fall conference has finally been rescheduled!
After much delay the first Gaudiumetspes22 meeting has finally been rescheduled! The gathering will take place at our new home in Scranton, Pennsylvania on March 12-15 2026. The gathering will begin in the evening of Thursday the 12th with a social hour of drinks and finger food, followed by our first “round table discussion”. Friday and Saturday we will meet at the house for two days of intensive conversations and fellowship. Saturday evening I will be reserving a large private room at “Cooper’s Seafood House” which is very near our house for a closing banquet. Hopefully, The gathering will conclude on the morning of Sunday the 15th with the solemn high Mass at St. Thomas More, our Ordinariate parish. More details will follow.
There is no registration fee for attendance. However, donations would be most welcome to help defray the cost of food and drink.
The meeting is inspired by the model proposed by Peter Maurin which he called “roundtable discussions”. These discussions are characterized by a totally free and open conversational style of discourse. There will be no “academic papers” presented but I will moderate the conversations. We will also hopefully have a common set of readings which I will send to everyone and from which our conversations can proceed.
The theme of our conversations will revolved around the current status of our Church and our culture, with an eye toward how Communio/Ressourcement theology in particular can respond to the challenges we face. Related topics will include evangelization, theodicy, and ecclesiology. Nevertheless, I fully expect that these conversations will take us into many different topics that cannot be predicted in advance!
If you would like to attend please email me at: larrychapp@icloud.com. When you email please indicate if you had already been previously listed for the Fall gathering that was cancelled. Anyone who was admitted at that time will be admitted again. We are going to limit the number of attendees to around 25.
Carrie and I are greatly looking forward to hosting this first meeting at our new home.
For those who want to know the exact location, our new address is:

Cheers!
Larry
