Fundraiser
We have raised nearly $26,000 which is only $2000 short of our goal. Thanks to all!!

I want to thank everyone who has donated to our fundraiser. It has been an amazing success and we are overhwhelmed with the generosity shown by so many! We have received nearly $26,000 so far in either donations or pledged donations. So we are only $2000 short of our goal of $28,000. We are still in need of those final amounts since the last thing on our list is the building of our new Poustinia hermitage which is going to be a tad bit expensive. We estimate the cost for the hermitage to be around $10,000 and we have gotten around $7000 so far pledged for that project. The hermitage is a huge part of what we want to do on the farm going forward and will also give folks a chance to visit us here and have a place to stay -- however rustic and primitive -- without needing to find a local hotel. Your donations have also made it possible for this blog to continue since it will help pay for all of the fees associated with it.

Thanks again to one and all. I wanted to add some photos of just a few of the things your donations have allowed us to do. Below are photos of the new pasture road (which was desperately needed in our swampy conditions), the new trailer, the goat enclosure fencing project, and pictures of our baby goats and the goat building your donations allowed us to purchase last year. The people in the photos are from Princeton University's "Aquinas Institute". I include them in order to highlight the fact that we are not a "hobby farm". We are involved in what Peter Maurin called "Cult, Culture, and Cultivation" which includes education in the "agronomic university" and the recovery of artisanal skills. We are also a place of Benedictine spirituality and prayer is a central element whenever we have guests. For example, at the end of the day, the group from Princeton had Mass in our chapel.
