Update: SpesFest Midwest
I am in day four of my tour of the Grand Rapids Michigan area. Many thanks to Bernie Franceschi and Conor Dugan for these events. Last night I led a conversation at a parish hall in Muskegon Michicgan with an impressive crowd! The parish is St. Mary's of the Immaculate Conception and the parish hall is built in the style of an Irish Pub. It is called Hennessy's Pub. What a great concept! More parishes should do this. I am pictured here with a young man, Walter Plymale, who is a student at nearby Hope College. The faith is alive and well in this part of Michigan.
Yesterday Bernie took me to the home of the Russell Kirk Center. What an amazing place! The lunch conversation was fascinating and the invited guests were all profoundly engaging. Here is a photo of Bernie and me with Russell Kirk's widow Annette. What an amazing woman and still on the top of her game at age 86!

I will be having lunch today with Fr. Robert Sirico, the head of the Acton Institute and the poet James Matthew Wilson. Tonight will be another SpesFest gathering in yet another parish. Bernie is wearing me out! But it is all good.
I will be back home in Scranton on Monday. More podcasts and articles to follow. Blessings to all.
Cheers
Larry
